Biologically active water-insoluble protein polymers. I. Their use for isolation of antigens and antibodies.

چکیده
Insoluble antigen and antibody derivatives were obtained when ethyl chloroformate was added to solutions of antigen or antibody. Evidence has been obtained to show that polymerization has occurred and that the protein molecules are linked covalently to one another. The immunoadsorbent properties of these insolubilized proteins were investigated. They were found to be efficient, specific, and stable immunoadsorbents, and were used to isolate specific antibodies from a number of proteins, to isolate antigens from mixtures, and to remove contaminating antigen and antibody proteins from solutions.

متن کاملIsolation of biologically active Actinomycetes from untouched soils: a case study from Karaj district, Iran
Actinomycetes are a source of a broad variety of secondary metabolites with diverse biological activities, such as antifungi, antibiotics and antitumorals; many of which have been developed for clinical use. In this study, 34 actinomycetes from untouched soils were isolated from Alborz Province-Iran. Evaluation ofantifungal and anti bacterial activities of these isolates, demonstrated the capab...
متن کاملPreparation and properties of water-insoluble derivatives of trypsin.
The conversion of enzymes into water-insoluble products possessing specific catalytic activity is of interest, since such water-insoluble enzyme derivatives can readily be removed from the reaction mixture and can be used for the preparation of columns with enzymatic activity. When stable, they can be employed repeatedly to induce specific chemical changes in relatively large amounts of substra...
متن کاملRecombinant scFv Antibodies against P30 Surface Protein of Toxoplasma Gondii
Background & Aims: Toxoplasma gondii is an obligate, intracellular parasite, which is widely spread in the world. The parasite is able to infect all warm-blooded hosts including humans and farm animals. The infection in humans often occurs after the ingestion of raw or undercooked meat containing tissue cysts. Several methods have been applied to detect this parasite in contaminated foods. Reco...
متن کاملProduction and Characterization of Monoclonal Antibodies Recognizing a Common 57-kDa Antigen of Leishmania Species
Background: The therapy of leishmania infection is difficult and each year 1.5 million new cases of cutaneous leishmaniasis and 500,000 new cases of visceral leishmaniasis are estimated, therefore, there is a need for an effective vaccine. Monoclonal antibody (mAb) is one of the suitable methods for isolation and purification of leishmania antigens. In this report, we produced several mAb aga...
